Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Emma (she/her), and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington (License #61464344). I am an admirer of earth tones, old things, David Attenborough, soup of any variety, and my beloved rescue pup, Pinto. I am most at peace when the air is crisp, a body of water is near, and I’m sharing space with the ones that make me feel the most me. I am a quintessential Cancer, INFP, and Enneagram Type 2 (if you’re into that kind of thing). Who I am as a therapist is not all that different from who I am as a person. I believe in authenticity, genuine human connection, the importance of curiosity with ourselves and others, and dedicated openness to the discomfort that helps us grow.

I want to help you with the challenges you've been trying to resolve alone. I want to offer a therapeutic space for you to use in whatever way feels most beneficial to you and help guide you in discovering what you need if you are not exactly sure. I believe anyone can benefit from talking to someone who isn't primarily a friend or family member- someone who is simultaneously objective and able to emotionally connect- someone who is empathic, curious, non-judgmental, and there to sit with you in uncomfortable emotions that feel scary.

Inner and relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, compulsions, and psychological distress of any kind can present the opportunity to know ourselves more deeply and engage in our lives in more intimate and meaningful ways. By giving you a safe and affirming space to be curious about your past and present experiences, I can help you explore new perspectives and gain an increased, empowering awareness of yourself and the world around you. When it comes to how you want to move forward with what you learn? Well, we can figure that out together, too.

My therapeutic style is rooted in the belief that people are intrinsically valuable and deserving of fundamental human connection. We all want to be seen, heard, and understood. I specialize in working with individuals who are “high-achievers/perfectionists" yet struggle with satisfying, stable intimacy in their relationships. I have found success with clients who share they have struggled to connect or feel understood in the past. I do not have a “one size fits all” approach and am not married to a single therapeutic modality. My intention is to build a unique relationship and individualized therapeutic approach with each of my clients.

Whether it's a need to understand what you’re feeling, not feeling at all, or grappling with feeling too much, the right therapist will meet you where you are, give you grace, and nudge you when necessary. If you think that could be me, I would love to hear from you.
